WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I feel as tho I’ve always been on the chubbier side, but over the last two years I was on a downward spiral and the weight was just packing the weight on. I became really unhappy.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
My relationship with my boyfriend as well as all my relationships with my friends.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
One day I just was like ‘Emily you are fat and you don’t love yourself. You need to love yourself.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I went and bought a journal & I wrote down my goals.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I saw results the first week! I had more energy and I was starting to gain some confidence.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
A big challenge was not eating after 730pm. After then I would snack and eat unhealthy. But I just went cold turkey, and that was hard!
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Never! I’ve been focused the whole time. Sure there were days I didn’t feel like going for a run or eating healthy for supper, but I thought of all the progress I’ve made and how happy I am when I see results.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I haven’t hit one yet. I still have 11 more pounds to go, so we shall see!
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
Just over 7 months.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
Yes! Seeing my collarbones, cuting my jean size in half, friends telling me I look like I’m glowing.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Healthy – Three meals a day. Healthy. 12 glasses of water a day. And portion control.
Unhealthy – Two meals a day. Super unhealthy. Hardly any water. Way to many scnacks throughout the day & late at night.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Oh I exercise at least 3-4 times a week where as before I hardly did anything.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Food journal.
- Drink lots of water.
- Set a list of your goals and what you want to achieve.
- For people who don’t want to get a gym membership, there are hundreds and hundreds of amazing YouTube workout videos!
- Believe in yourself!
